Lethbridge College Security Information Video

I was contracted by the Lethbridge College to create an animated video about the security and safety procedures at the College. The College wanted to stay on brand with colours and overall designs, but I did get a lot of creative liberty with how characters, graphics and overall scenes would look like. I was head of design and animation, with Jason Lawrence and Laura Bowser acting as Project Leads and Supervisors.

Student Non-Academic Misconduct Process Explainer Video

I was contracted by the Lethbridge College to create an animated video about the Student Code of Conduct policy. The goal here was to create a simple, but visually appealing video that both students and employees could watch and understand the Conduct process. I was head of design and animation, with Jason Lawrence and Laura Bowser acting as Project Leads and Supervisors.

Banff Centre – Translation Animation

One of the last projects I worked on for the Banff Centre (before the COVID-19 crisis hit) was a water-colour inspired animation about literary translation. I was tasked with the visualization of a metaphor and I used rotoscoping as my method of choice. The idea behind this piece is that a translator acts as a medium, and aids in communication and understanding between parties.

Banff Centre – Mountain Film Festival Contest Piece

Each fall, the Banff Centre hosts a, international film and book festival and every media department is tasked with producing assets for the festival. My team and I were tasked with creating an animated piece about the annual contest for the festival. It was one of the most intensive and challenging pieces I have ever done, but very rewarding as it has been seen by thousands of individuals globally. My duties involved designing and building assets including Machu Picchu, the hiker and the llama, the Lake Louise ski resort and skiers, the Inca trail map, and creating the snow particle effects.

New Media – Change Animation

I was asked to take part in a project for an animation class during final year of University. This was a full class project that utilized rotoscoping to the theme of accepting change (using the idea of getting one’s hair cut.)

Let’s build something together.
